While we’re all feeling appreciative that the world is opening back up now and we can actually go out on dates, sometimes it’s nice to spice things up a little bit and try something different. With these 20 quirky date ideas, you’re guaranteed to have fun and try something outside of your usual date nights.

Unique and quirky dates are great for couple who are looking to try something different or even for first dates. Going rock climbing or heading to an theme park is a much more memorable first date than meeting up at a pub or restaurant.   9. Head to a scare zone – O.K. this one is kind of specific to Halloween but scare zones have sprung up all over the U.K. in recent years. Using live actors to terrify you and provide an all round spooky experience. It’s a good excuse to hold hands and get extra close.

  7. White water rafting – there’s something about white water rafting that looks super fun. Like a water ride but a heck of a lot more intense!
  8. See a waterfall – when you think of waterfalls you probably think of exotic locations but did you know the U.K. has some beautiful waterfalls too? Surrounded by beautiful scenery you could pack up a picnic and head to a waterfall and take in the beauty of nature.
  9. Create a time capsule – make a time capsule or a memory box of everything that represents you as a couple and your relationship to date. Seal it up and store it away to open in the future. You could even write a note to each other to store away and read in the future.
  10. Explore the next town over – play tourists in the next town over. Visit any historical spots, find a museum and sample some independent food trucks or cafes. Chances are you’re familiar with the place but have never really taken the time to explore what it has to offer.

  3. Some amazing ideas. Lots I would have never thought of. The DIY together would never work for us – definitely cause an argument haha – if you have a family, the waterfall (take a picnic) and crazy golf one is great to get your kids involved in, you can all have lots of fun.
