As wonderful as video dating, virtual date nights and livestreamed weddings are I think we’re all at a point now where we’d rather be making a human connection not a Wi-Fi one. There’s no doubt that video dating can be a huge help in finding love and settling those nerves but I think it needs to be balanced with physical dates too. We can build foundations over video dates but those foundations only become concrete once we physically spend time with someone. I think this period has been great for giving us alternatives and there’s certainly advantages to using those in the future but I think when the time is right we’ll see a better balance between finding love online and building on that love face to face.

I met my partner on Twitter – we started talking 8 or so years ago and have been together 7 years.
Neither of us went on there for that reason but we just started chatting.
