Roxanne and Craig
10th October 2020 | Shaw House, Newbury

For this real wedding feature I’m pleased to bring you Roxanne and Craig’s stunning October micro wedding. After cancelling their wedding several times due to COVID-19 they decided to go ahead with just 10 people including themselves. I think you’ll agree that thanks to the downsized, relaxed day they managed to get some absolutely beautiful photos in gorgeous locations. Here’s Roxanne to tell us more about the day.

Our wedding had been cancelled a few times so we decided to downsize, our original wedding and reception had up to 80 people. After replanning the wedding 3 times we decided to only have siblings and parents, this made the wedding 10 people including Bride and Groom. This also meant that we ended up getting married at the registry office instead of at our venue. Side note our venue cancelled on us for our 2021 reception. Luckily the office is a lovely old manor house converted into council offices, Crissi our photographer came with us for the afternoon so that we would be able to have photos from the day. We had lovely weather and had a walk just the two of us up to Donnington Castle in Newbury.

Once we parted with Crissi we went onto Donnington Valley in Newbury for an afternoon tea with the family. They were able to offer a spare conference room for us to have a couple of drinks in after our afternoon.

We still have our reception planned for 9th October 2021 in Sheep Drove Eco centre, with Rusty Roses are lovely catering company and Crissi! We have spent so much time planning that we are very excited for the second part of our wedding with all our lovely suppliers that we were not able to 2020. Luckily Sheep Drove were able to provide a date for us to have our wedding on a Saturday the day before our one year anniversary.

Wow! What an absolutely lovely wedding. I love that Roxanne and Craig decided to go ahead with their wedding despite only having eight guests. I think the fact that they got to take some time to be alone after the ceremony and get some stunning photos is absolutely lovely and something that couples with bigger weddings often miss out on. I think this really goes to show just some of the benefits of having a smaller wedding.

Roxanne and Craig’s beautiful autumn engagement shoot also features on the blog so make sure you go and check that out too.
